Perfection in Miniature Awards (PIMA)

The Kensington Dollshouse Festival Summer Show is delighted to be hosting the first ever 'Perfection in Miniatures Awards'

Ahmed al Thani, a regular visitor to KDF, approached us this year, as he was interested in offering a challenge to the exhibitors of the Festival - 'reach for perfection'.

So we set up the PIMA's (Perfection in Miniature Awards) & for the first time, there will be a competition for KDF Exhibitors to enter, which, we hope will showcase the incredible work at the Festival & highlight the talents of all our unique craftsmen. With the help of Ahmed, this competition will be an annual event which offers the miniaturists who exhibit at KDF a rare opportunity to push themselves to reach the goal of perfection in miniature.

We are looking for miniatures of exceptional quality, completely handmade & unique. The miniature entered could be a doll, a piece of furniture, a miniature made from silver, glass, wood, china etc, or a small scene or even dolls house.

Judges will be looking for:

1: A high level of skill in the discipline you have chosen (woodwork, metalwork, doll making etc)
2: Exceptional detail in scale & proportion.
3: Good use of materials.
4: Imaginative, unique ideas & designs.
5: Craftsmen who push their work to a higher level than previously achieved.

Judges will be announced prior to the Festival & winners will be announced at a special event after the close of the show on May 15th.

This competition is only open to KDF Exhibitors & all entries will be displayed at the Summer Show.
